So, God knows how this happened considering my Christmas dinner feels like it was last week, but we’re now more than halfway through the year. EEK. In order to distract myself from the sheer panic of how quickly time is going (and that I really need to start putting more money into pension, seeing as I’ll be 70 in about two months at this rate), I decided to focus on some of my favourite brand discoveries of the year. Of course there are still five months for me to fall in love with new products, but for now these are my winners of 2017…
Nouveau Lashes
I’ve been a false eyelash fan since I was about 17, but have never really had too much brand preference. Eylure were obviously up there when you wanted to be faaaancy and spend a whole five English pounds, but I also regularly dabbled with cheap pairs from the likes of Bodycare and Wilko, and even those eBay multipacks where you paid about 10p per pair (a lifesaver in my student days, I tell ya).
However, since being introduced to Nouveau Lashes earlier this year, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Their lashes are lightweight and comfortable, with a band so thin it’s practically invisible. They have a really wide selection of different styles, and they’re all under a fiver a pair. My favourite are the Natural range, which you can shop here. As well as doing lashes, Nouveau also stock a range of other lash and brow products, including the Eye Makeup Remover* and Lash and Brow Conditioning Serum* that I’m also a big fan of.
iDeal Of Sweden
If you’ve opened Instagram any time over the last couple of months then the chances are you’ll have seen a few iDeal Of Sweden phone cases on your feed. it seems like they’ve become the brand for phone cases amongst bloggers, but I’m not complaining because they’re super pretty so I never get bored of seeing them. I was recently sent a couple of my own cases to try and can confirm they’re just as cute in real life – and also really good quality. I have the Carrara Gold marble phone case* as my everday case at the moment, and also picked up the Pink Wallet Case*. The wallet case is a fold-over design and also has space for cards on the back, making it perfect for nights out and holidays when you want to carry less (/not worry about smashing your phone screen after one too many Pina Coladas).
Skinny Tan
If you read my recent Skinny Tan Ultimate Dark Mousse Review, you’ll know that Skinny Tan are a fairly recent discovery of mine. But oh. My. God. I really don’t know how I lasted without this tan in my life for so long. As I explained in my first review, the Dark Mousse totally converted me to the brand thanks to its colour and formula. I was then kindly sent the Express Mousse 1 Hour Tan* to try and guess what my fellow tan addicts? It’s just as amazing. Brilliant for any last-minute tanning needs, this can be washed off after just an hour – however, I like to leave it on overnight for a super-dark finish (because a mahogany coffee table is legit my tanning inspo). I was also sent a new tanning mitt, which I was very pleased with because the Skinny Tan ones are absolutely the BEST in the game. They’re velvety for a super-smooth application, and also fully lined so your hands are protected from those tell-tale streaks. I would say I need a lifetime supply, but they can actually be thrown in the washing machine and re-used. Can I get a HELL YEAH? No? That’s fine, let’s move on.
So these are my favourite brands so far of 2017, but what are yours? Let me know in the comments!
I’ve never heard of the brand noveau lashes before, they seem pretty decent.
