As you all probably know, the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, is fast approaching. On Friday 25th November, we’ll see most retailers giving massive discounts on everything from hoovers to designer shoes (and it’s a sad fact that I have equal interest in both of these – I just want a cordless Dyson, dammit!). Black Friday is obviously a good thing as it gives us chance to grab bargain Chrizzy presents, but in my opinion it’s also bloody stressful. Everyone wants to nab the best deals, and this normally involves bouncing around from one site to the next, frantically searching for what shop is saving you the most %.
Well, no more. NO MORE I SAY. I’ve just been introduced to a new site called Every Day is Black Friday, that promises to take all of the stress out of bargain hunting. And as the name would imply, it’s actually not designed just for Black Friday – the site scours the web to find you the biggest discounts around each and every day.
The way it does this is pretty advanced, but I’ll miss most of the technicalities out because, er, it’s Wednesday and my brain power has already been sapped for the week. But basically, Every Day is Black Friday crawls the websites of over 150 retailers and compares the prices of EVERY product on there EVERY 24 hours. As soon as something is discounted, EDBF (as us in the know call it) will display the deal on the homepage, as well as the dedicated brand pages. So just to give you a snapshot, here’s what the current New Look sale page looks like:
Bargains ahoy! One nifty feature is that little graph you can just make out above – this shows how much of a price drop the product has had, and how long it stayed at its previous price for. Also, if you’ve heard those rumours about retailers’ Black Friday deals actually not being any cheaper than the RRP, then that’s a great way to expose the fake deals. All hail EDBF.
