A Weekend in the Toyota C-HR

chr 2It probably won’t come as any great surprise to you that I don’t know much about cars. In fact, when it came to shopping for my first car, I nearly gave my dad a nervous breakdown as I insisted on ignoring all of his suggestions about mileage, running costs and road tax and always ended up saying “Yeah, but I don’t like the colour”. However, when I was contacted by the Vantage Motor Group in Solihull about whether I fancied test driving the brand new Toyota C-HR for a weekend, it was a definite yes. I might not know my horsepower from my headlights, but I do know I like the chance of being one of the first in the UK to take a brand new model for a spin.

But I really needn’t have worried – once you’re inside the Toyota C-HR, you feel 100% safe and control. I think this is because it’s packed with so many safety features (which I was probably about to scroll through on the screen right after listening to Eminem. Ahem).

These include reversing cameras, blind spot sensors and even lane departure warnings. These features, along with the touch-screen control panel, keyless start and electronic handbrake also made me very aware that I was in a super modern car.

I had great peace of mind while driving the C-HR, and it’s just as comfortable a drive for passengers. Inside the cabin is really luxurious, with heated leather seats, plenty of space and even room for TV screens in the back. I’ll be honest – it’s the heated seats I’m missing most since giving the car back (sob).

After scooting round on small trips for a couple of days, I eventually drove the car on my 3 hour round trip to Fishmore Hall Spa in Ludlow. It was an absolute dream to drive on a longer journey, and cruising along with my Britney playlist (shuttup) playing via the Bluetooth connection to my phone was the perfect Sunday.

If you’re in the market for a new car then I’d definitely recommend checking out the Toyota C-HR. Practical but undeniably cool and eye-catching, I think this would suit people from a lot of different walks of life. Oh, and did I mention it’s a hybrid? A quick Google tells me that that’s a good thing. I told you I didn’t know much about cars, okay…

A big thanks to the team at Vantage Toyota Solihull to sorting out my weekend transportation! You can read more about the C-HR here
