Outfit of the Day: Missguided Trouser Co-Ord

OOTD 29th Sep Collage 1Top and Trousers: both Missguided | Shoe: Primark | Clutch Bag: ASOS (old)

HEY GUYS. As you may know if you read our recent Missguided wishlist post, I’ve had my beady eyes on this two-piece for a couple of weeks now. I had a christening to go to over the weekend and so finally saw my chance to buy it. Yes, I technically wore a crop top to church. Sorry baby Jesus. I have to say though that I’m COMPLETELY in love with this co-ord. It’s made from quite thick polyester so feels much more formal and fitted than other crops-and-trouser combos, and I think the print is really flattering (despite my hips looking approx 3 metres wide).

OOTD 29th Sep Collage 2I was a bit unsure how the trousers would fit as normally my stumpy legs require petite lengths, but Missguided trousers are actually a really good length for me. I’m looking forward to wearing these for my new job with a cami or jumper, and I should get plenty of wear from the top too seeing as it’s not too cropped.

OOTD 29th Sep Collage 3I teamed the co-ord with my nude Primark heels (£13, say whut) and bright envelope clutch from ASOS.  I kept jewellery simple with a couple of silver rings, and had my new Barry M shade ‘Coconut’ on my nails.

Outfit of the Day: Primark Drop Waisted Dress

Primark Drop Waisted Dress 2

Primark Drop Waisted Skirt

Before anyone criticises me too much, I have relatively changed my mind about drop waisted dresses and skirts. I have always been like WHY, WHY DO THESE THINGS EXIST THEY ARE STUPID when it comes to drop waisted things, but now I have changed my mind and decided to love them, c’est la vie.

And the dress that changed my mind is this one. Granted, I bought it when I was slightly merry and had been drinking virtually all day in the delights of Yorkshire, this should have been a total disaster. But I was so pleasantly surprised, and for the price, it is such a great little buy. But how much was it, I hear you asking? WELL. IT WAS FIVE POUNDS. Yes. Five human pounds. This bad boy was a part of the Primark fiver range, which continues to impress me. While the quality isn’t great, for standard dresses that do alright for work and so forth, they really are great. I wore this out when we headed out in Hull for a delightful partay, and it worked really well with heels too.

I’m wearing it today with my favey denim jacket, my ASOS platforms (cough, I never wear these hehe) and a few bits of jewellery I have found lying around my room.

What do you think of this £5 Primark dress? Worth the bargain?
(What a stupid question Lauren, of course it is worth the bargain)

Outfit of the Day: Fluffy Bums

OOTD 9th Sep collage 1Coat: New Look | Crop Top: Missguided (similar) | Skirt: Primark | Boots: eBay | Bag: Primark

Aloha bitches! So in case you think this OOTD looks a bit familiar, I suppose it is a bit, er, exactly the same as Lauren’s from the other day (which you can see here). What can I say, all-black outfits jazzed up with a duster coat is just our thing now, okay? My new duster also comes from New Look, though mine is a a light crepe material, making it the perfect transitional piece. I’ve worn it nearly every day since I bought it, and like the way it updates any outfit.

OOTD-9th-Sep-collage-3Another difference between this outfit and Lauren’s is that my bum is made of fur. Oh yes, Primark have ventured into the world of fluffy skirts this year and I had to grab one as soon as I saw it (despite it still being a pretty sweaty August day at the time and getting a very weird look from the cashier). On the receipt it was listed as part of a 2-piece so I am PRAYING to the gods of ridiculous outfits that there is a matching fluffy jumper, preferably slightly cropped with cropped sleeves. If you’ve seen something resembling that in your local Primark then PLEASE let me know in the comments below because I won’t be happy until I can be head-to-toe fluffball.

OOTD 9th Sep collage 2The bag is also new, and also of course from Primark. With three different compartments it’s a pretty decent alternative to the Zara city bag, and at only £11 is much more purse friendly. Can I get a BOOYA?

Outfit of the Day: New Look Duster Coat & ASOS Platforms

New Look Duster Coat 1

Big up to my homegirl Claire for this outfit of the day post, because she has basically influenced it. I’m not sure if I mentioned in my last post where I was wearing these shoes, but Claire and my dear Coventry friends got me these beautiful ASOS dreamboat shoes for my birthday just gone. I have literally not removed them from my feet since then, I love them SO much and they are perfect in every way.

As well as having my back on the shoe front, Claire also introduced me to the wonderful autumn/winter trend that is the duster coat. I’ve well and truly fallen in love, and I invested in my first one this season last weekend. It was actually quite awkward when we both turned up to work on Monday wearing duster coats from New Look, because she had the same idea and got one in dusty pale pink from New Look too! Which, as you may have guessed, is where mine is from. CAN I RAVE ABOUT THIS COAT ANY MORE? No. I absolutely love it, with the fiery passion of a girl who loves duster coats. I really really recommend you go and check their frankly brilliant coat selection out, because you will not be disappointed in any way, shape or form.

New Look Duster Coat 3

I bought this checked wonder for £29.99, which is the biggest bargain of the century. It’s not too thick, so a perfect transitional piece for these weirdly chilly late summer days. I’m enjoying my darker hair with darker colours, so I feel like I can swan about like a bit of a goth in this and feel fabulous. HUZZAH.

I paired it with a leather look tee from F&F, a REALLY old faux-denim skirt from H&M, some faaaaabulous tights sent to me by Luxury Legs (I cannot rave enough about them, they are absolutely brilliant) and my beautiful River Island tote bag (they’re not retailing this badboy online yet as far as I can see).

Will you be donning the duster coat this A/W?

Outfit of the Day: Celeb Look Pom Pom Playsuit

PicMonkey Collage

Celeb Look Pom Pom Playsuit* | Cow Vintage Denim Jacket | Asos Platform Heels

HI GUYS

It’s Friday, I have had a couple of pints and about 1 tonne of biscuits. Life is good.

Another reason why life is good, is this absolutely GORGEY playsuit that the friendly folk at Celeb Look sent over to us. They also sent Claire a beautiful pink kimono, but I will let her fill you in on that beaut once she’s taken a few outfit snaps.

I have to say, I was never a playsuit fan really. I find them a struggle, especially if there are buttons and zips involved (loo problems, you get me). However, I absolutely adore this one and its the perfect playsuit to just wear during the day, and I have literally spent about 67 hours sitting in a pub garden wearing this lacey number.

Unfortunately, the weather has been SO GRIM here in the Midlands and we have been slowly freezing to death in the big lie they call summer (Claire and I had to have the heating on the other day, what is the point I ask you?). So, I’ve had to wear this EXCELLENT pom pom lace thang with black tights, my favourite ASOS platform heel things and my huge denim jacket that I can seem to remove from my torso no matter how hard I try. I can tell you right now, I am the toastiest girl alive.

Don’t forget you can like Celeb Look on Facebook too girls, they’re a lovely brand and thanks to Rebecca for sending us a few bits and pieces!

What do you think of this beauty and what are your favourite Celeb Look pieces?

Outfit of the Day: Fashion Union Jumpsuit

OOTD 10th August Collage 1Jumpsuit: Fashion Union* / Giselle Bag: Marc B / Shoes: Primark / London Retro Sunglasses: Glasses Direct*

Waddup angel faces! Apologies for being such a Squinty McSquinterson in these photos; I’m evidently still not used to the outside world with all its nature and sunshine and crap. Urgh, who needs it.

ANYWHO, I was superrr excited when Fashion Union contacted us recently as I’ve been wanting to try something from them for ever (give or take a month). I fell in love with this jumpsuit as soon as I saw it; the palm print screams summer but the monochrome keeps it more casual and means that I should still be able to wear it into autumn.

The fit is really loose and comfortable, and I’m a big fan of the adjustable straps as it improves the fit for us petite lasses who can sometimes look a little swamped in jumpsuits. It is a little too long for me – but then so are most children’s clothes, so no surprise there – so I teamed it with heels which worked fine. I still might see about getting the legs turned up though as I’d love to wear this casually too.

OOTD 10th Aug Collage 2I kept accessories simple with nude heels, favey Marc B handbag and beaut London Retro sunglasses from Glasses Direct. These are the priciest pair of sunglasses I own at £95, but they’ve been such a staple for me this summer so I can see why people invest in designer shades.

I’m really impressed with Fashion Union after this jumpsuit and am now off to have a full browse at the website and suggest y’all do the same. I mean, do you really have anything better to do with your day? Didn’t think so. Until next time my pretties.

Outfit of the Day: Missguided and Vintage Denim

Cow Vintage Jacket Collage

Missguided Swing Dress | Missguided Gold Chain NecklaceCow Vintage Denim Jacket | Converse

Hey hottays,

I am happy to say that Claire is back in England and I no longer have to cry myself to sleep every night. I’m not really sure how I coped quite frankly.

In my state of unhappiness and woe, I had to go shopping to try and cheer myself up in Claire’s absence. It did help actually, especially since I found this absolutely fabulous denim jacket from Cow, a vintage shop based in Birmingham (although they have shops in Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield too!). If you’re ever in the Birmingham area, I thoroughly recommend a visit to Cow – they have some absolutely EXCELLENT vintage denim and also loads of bags/shoes/dresses/errrrrything. I was really tempted by a chain print blouse while I was there as well, but managed to not get too drawn in (how, I don’t know). They retail online as well, so go and have a nosey kids, this is their website. The Birmingham Cow is based in Digbeth.

Anywho, enough ramblings about how much I enjoy Cow. The denim jacket I got is from the men’s section, mainly because I couldn’t find a ladies one with the right level of acid wash. I wanted it pretty oversized anyway, so I’m MEGA pleased with it even if I am technically cross dressing.

Missguided Swing Dress

I paired the jacket with a simple Missguided swing dress, a gold chain and my horribly battered converse. I’ve got Rimmel’s Apocolips in Big Bang on my face (no really, I managed to get it in my eyebrow this morning) and fashioned my hair into some french braids.

Outfits

HUZZAH. I only slightly look like an alien in that little selfie OH WELL.

Outfit of the Day: Sports Luxe

OOTD 4th Aug Collage 1Top: Brave Soul via ASOS / Shorts: Motel Rocks / Sandals: Primark

Hey there lads and lasses! So I have to say that sports luxe is a trend I never really felt brave enough to attempt, feeling that my take on joggers and heels would look less ‘fashion’ and more ‘confused chav’ (which is basically what I am, but we must try to hide this from the world). However, I think with this outfit I’ve sort of managed the varsity-inspired smart/casual blend that has been intriguing me for a couple of seasons now.

I’m in love with this Brave Soul top that I picked up in the ASOS sale a couple of weeks ago. You can’t see too well in the photos but it’s actually a perforated jersey so has that authentic sports vibe, but the cropped fit keeps it from being too masculine (which is a good thing considering I have shoulders broad enough to take on any American footballer). I also like the fact that the print isn’t a varsity number or anything too sporty, as I think that’s a leeeeedle bit done and dusted now.

OOTD 4th Aug Collage 2To add the smarter edge to the outfit I paired the top with these beautiful embossed white shorts from Motel. I got these as part of a co-ord, but they’re so versatile I’ll get plenty of wear out of them on their own. I can’t track them down on the website any longer which is a DARN shame, but they still have the black version here and they’re currently in the sale for £15 so GO MONKEYS, GO.

Of course my Primark sandals also had to be worn. Legend says that I’m actually incapable of wearing any other shoes at the moment…

Outfit of the Day: Missguided Dogtooth Print Mini Dress

Missguided Dogtooth Mini Dress

Hey homies,

As Claire is on holiday and I am tragically sitting at home and basically roasting in my room right now, I thought I’d take a couple of outfit snaps. I don’t know about all of you other grafters who do 9-5, but these last few weeks have been torture sitting at a desk crying about how hot it is and how there is no cider policy at work (e.g. cider is compulsory when it gets to 20+ degrees).

Thankfully, we can wear what we like to work so I have been whipping out my pasty white legs in the hope that I kill off my colleagues with moon blindness and I can go home. No luck so far.

Anywho, I bought this Missguided dress last week because I was off to a wedding at the weekend – I was meeting my boyfriends work pals for the first time, so I didn’t want to look like a massive tramp. This dress was my Friday outfit, as we were there from Friday – Sunday and I had to pretend not to be a tramp for THREE WHOLE DAYS. I wuv it, pastels are my fave and its surprisingly flattering even though its relatively bodycon. I can’t seem to find it onsite anymore though, which is odd.

Collage 2

I wore it with a fedora, which I robbed from Claire ages ago and haven’t had the heart to give it back to her. Pale girls need hats, because we unfortunately get burnt noses and accidentally look like Rudolph in July.

I popped on my big, round New Look sunnies to shade my eyeballs from the sun and a gold chain because gold chains make me happy.

SHOESShoes-wise I have this pair of heeled trainer-y type fandangoes on my feet. I got them in Birmingham at a shop that none of you will have heard of, but you can find similar on Asos here.

I must be off to go and try and not melt.

Goodbye.

Prom Accessories with New Look #2

DSCN5764

There is nothing better than a nice pair of heels and a fancy bag is there? In fact, I’ve been mooning over shoes and bags for the past FOUR DAYS trying to decide what to buy for a weekend away on Friday (no luck yet, boo). Anywho, so I was clearly hugely excited when New Look contacted me and Claire to have a little style up of some accessories from their prom accessories selection.

I was on my holibobs in South Africa when they did, so Claire picked these two beautiful bits out for me! I absolutely love them, and I’ve been hankering after a glittery bag for, I kid you not, years.

So, in Claire’s prom post, she chatted about her tragic prom outfits but I can tell you here and now, they were nothing on mine. At my GCSE prom, I thought it would be a nice idea to get my mum to make my dress. She used to be a wedding dress maker, so she knows what she’s doing around a sewing machine. Unfortunately, she was also making a couple of wedding dresses at the time and I basically forced her to make my dress like she was a poor sweat shop worker. I also chose the dress to be in some kind of horrific pale green satin (VOM AND VOM) and fancied myself something fit when I got some eyeshadow to match.

My sixth form prom was a little better, with a relatively normal monochrome chiffon skater dress. It had these cream applique roses on the top, but unfortunately I decided to match and got shoes with cream roses on too. There is such a thing as too much matching. It wasn’t matching in a cool co-rd way but rather a ‘I hunted through the Trafford Centre for these shoes that are the exact same colour and aren’t actually nice’ kind of way.

P.S. WHY ARE MY LEGS SO PALE AND WIDE. I’M BLAMING THE ANGLE.

I wish I had worn something a bit more like this to my two proms! I may have looked less like an actual raving lunatic. I love the dress, which I bought from Missguided a few months ago. While I do love it with my whole tiny hear, unfortunately I never have any occasions to wear it to (hint, need a 17 year old boyfriend to take me to prom). It goes perfectly with the New Look bag and I think the shoes work pretty well too! While these are marketed as prom accessories by the folks at New Look, I think they’re pretty banging for night out wear and also for any fancy occasion you might be hauling your fine ass to.

BagThanks again to the lovely folks at New Look for sending these goodies over, and I am very excited to sit in my room in my fancy dress for the next 30+ years BECAUSE I WILL NEVER HAVE A FANCY OCCASION TO GO TO EVER AGAIN.

What do you think of these New Look accessories?
