It’s a pretty grim fact that up until about three years ago, I probably had a grand total of three or four makeup brushes in my collection – and I would guess that most of those were god-awful cheap, plastic things that had come free with something. Thankfully, over the last couple of years I’ve realised the benefits of having 1. a variety of brushes that all do different jobs (I know, revolutionary!), and 2. brushes that are actually well made and of a good quality.
I’m always excited to try new brands out then, so when these Look Good Feel Better makeup brushes popped through my door, I was all over them. I received the Angled Blending Brush*, the Detailed Eyeliner Brush* and the Concealer Brush*. All have the same sleek, monochrome design with silver detailing, and look absolutely beaut on display. But what about the quality?
Obviously, the real quality of makeup brushes is usually seen as time goes on and you can see how well they last, whether they shed etc – but so far, these feel absolutely lovely to use. They’re very soft while still feeling durable, and are apparently also suitable for sensitive skin (which is a plus for me as we head into winter and my eyes go more sensitive).
What I really love about these makeup brushes, though, is the brand behind them. I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Look Good Feel Better, but I came across them last year when I worked at a beauty brand. They’re actually an amazing charity that works with those affected by cancer, hosting beauty workshops for women when they’re arguably feeling at their lowest. One of their charity slogans is “You can’t underestimate the positive power of makeup”, which I think is so true. All too often, makeup can have a bad reputation for being a superficial tool – but Look Good Feel Better really shows how important it can be for building self-esteem and bringing confidence back. The great news is that Bespoke Europe made these brushes for LGFB, and a donation of 8%-12% will be made from each sale (with a minimum donation guaranteed of £30,000).
So, if you pick a couple of these babies up, not only are you adding some fabulous quality – and did I mention cruelty-free? – brushes to your collection, but you’re also helping to contribute to an amazing cause. I’ve linked to the brushes on Feel Unique earlier in this post, but they’re also available from Look Fantastic, Beauty Expert and good old Boots.
