When it comes to my skincare, I can be a bit all over the place. Yep it’s that time again – I’ve scoured the Primark New Arrivals section so you don’t have to. It’s good to see a lot of new summer stuff still coming in, because I for one am nowhere near done building my summer ‘drobe yet. I’m not off on holiday until September, so I’m still in the midst of my hunt for swimwear, beach cover ups and evening outfits (all a size smaller, as I’m obviously going to have lost a stone by then too, natch). I ignored the worrying selection of wooly hats that are appearing in stores this month – leave it out Primark – and picked my favourite pieces that you should be able to find in your local store. As the old saying goes, tan-liness is next to godliness (err, something like that anyway). As such, I’ve always taken my quest to find a good fake tan v. seriously indeed, and I’ve tried a lot of brands in my time. One that I’ve heard a lot of buzz about but hadn’t got round to trying myself yet was Skinny Tan, so when a bottle passed through work recently I seized the opportunity to try it out (along with one of the application mitts and an exfoliation mitt too – in for a penny etc).
It might not have seemed like it yesterday when I practically had to wade my way into work (RIP open-toed shoes), but SPRING HAS SPRUNG. Jack Wills recently created a guide around How to Style A Trench Coat and it got me thinking about Spring fashion, and the pieces I’m personally wearing a lot this season. As the ultimate transitional piece, the trench coat is obv one of those iconic Spring staples – and I think it’s important to have a couple of these in your wardrobe each season. But just as important are the fun, on-trend items that you might only wear for a couple of months but help update your outfits (and give us something to hopefully look back at cringe at when we’re older). Now, I hate to ruin the illusion for those of who thought my mane was natural, but if you’ve read this blog for a while then you’ll know I’ve had a weave for around five years (soz). I always thought this made me pretty experienced when it came to the hair extension game, but one thing I now know that I was totally lacking in knowledge of was how to take care of my hair extensions properly. I recently changed my usual hairdresser and paid a visit to Effin Hair for one of her Instagram-famous weaves, and – as well as a BEAUTIFUL head of hair – I left with a handful of products and a wealth of knowledge about how to look after my new extensions.
