Outfit of the Day: Primark Printed Trousers & Fur Coat

Good day scoundrels,

I’ve been woefully absent on the blog over the last week as I have been suffering from the stupid flu, which like a stalker will not leave me alone. I finally allowed myself to have a proper day off work today (after having an emotional/physical breakdown yesterday and one of my lovely colleagues having to drive me home) and it’s doing me miles of good! So much so that I actually feel like eating AND leaving the house (pardon?!), so I decided to slather my troll face in makeup to make the short journey to the corner shop. For biccies.

I’ve been dressing in attractive array of big tshirts and leggings for the past 4 days, so today felt like the day I should look like a normal human being and wear real clothes. This was my outfit!

I bought these delightful trousers a few weeks ago in Birmingham and I genuinely love them. They’re really comfortable and easy to wear, meaning if you get the urge to do some street lunges – YOU CAN. I think they have the capacity to be dressed up or down and they are a fabulous addition to my wardrobe. I can’t exactly remember the price, but they were around the £10 mark.

The tshirt is an old one, I bought it from Topshop a couple of years ago but it’s still a firm favourite. The picture doesn’t pick it up, but there are actually velvet peacock feather prints on the shoulders (I’m a gal that likes alliteration but that sentence was a bit much pahaha).

I don’t know about you guys, but it is fereeeeezing here in Cov and because I’m still in the throes of illness, I figured my adventure to the shop needed to be super warm and cosy. CUE GIANT BEAR COAT. This Topshop fur coat is my child, I love it so dearly. It’s also quite old now but it’s still in amazing condition (even after I couldn’t be bothered to take it to the dry cleaners and did it in the washing machine…). I hope it will stay with me for many years to come and if any of you lovely lot are thinking of investing in a fur coat from Toppers…I recommend it. I can’t believe how well this has lasted!

What do you all think? I for one am proud that my hair doesn’t resemble Hagrid’s beard.

Outfit of the Day: Quilted Leather Skirt

You know when you buy something and then don’t wear it for weeks and weeks because you just can’t work out whether you like it or not? That is the situation I’ve found myself in lately with this skirt, which I featured in my August haul post last month. I knew it was a good Autumn piece, I knew it should theoretically go with a lot, but could I just put it on and be happy? No, I could not.

Eventually though, I manned the eff up and wore it to work one day last week. It wasn’t until I actually arrived in the office that it occurred to me that wearing a leather mini skirt to work might not be a toooootally normal thing to do, but hey ho. I decided to keep it simple and monochrome by teaming it with this lace-ish scoop-back Topshop top that I’ve had for yonks, thick black tights (winter is coming, as the Starks would say) and of course my cut-out boots, which might have to be surgically removed from my feet soon.

After months of wearing thick gold chains and heavy spikes, I’ve started to prefer more delicate pieces of jewellery again. In steps my Tiffanys necklace that my sister got me for my 21st. It’s basically the only nice piece of jewellery I own and I love it very very dearly – potentially as much as I love flapjacks, and that’s mega loads.

Outfit of the Day: Missguided Printed Midi Dress.

P1060837-1

Hello dear pals,

This is just a quick OOTD from Saturday night. I popped home back to Cheshire where my parents live for the night, because one of my best pals returned from travelling and we went for a delightful night out. The palaver of getting my mum to take this photo is the reason why I look like a genuine gomp (particularly as my brother and dad were chuckling to themselves in the background SHUT UP DAD, THIS IS WHAT BLOGGERS DO).

I’ve actually had this dress for a while now, but I haven’t worn it out properly (believe it or not, I wear it to work a lot. And get many a strange look. Subtlety is not my speciality). It’s a little Missguided number and I’m assuming it’s snake print, but it may also be tiger print. Or some kind of tie dye. You choose ;). It can be bought at the bargain price of £14.99 here if you’re interested! I teamed it with a pair of hoof like wedges that I bought for gradball last year (sob sob, where has my life gone), which I do like but are a big baggy around the ankles. They were from Garage Shoes (I am a tramp, I know) and I am fairly certain that they are no longer available!

My hair looked crap.

Outfit of the Day: Leather Sleeved T-Shirt Dress

Merry Sunday everybody! So even though it was bloody FWEEZING last night and I actually debated putting the heating on, today has remained quite warm and it seems that summer’s determined to cling on for a while yet. However, we’ve already stated that here at Stylingo we’re feeling pretty over summer now (something which makes our friend Jade very angry, bahaha) and so I’m just not feeling very drawn to any of my summery dresses or denim bits at the moment. This outfit then, is my attempt at dressing weather-appropriate while still refusing to step back into the summery past.

I featured this t-shirt in my August haul post where I stated that I’d bought it a few sizes too big to wear it as a dress. I’m pleased to say that I think this kind of works, which means I’m wearing a dress that cost just £4. The boots are my beloved New Look babies (which keep getting lots of lovely compliments when I wear them, huzzah) paired with the cheapy little lace socks I included in my eBay haul.

This is also the first time that my new white(ish) locks have been featured in an OOTD – what do you all think?

Outfit of the Day: Acid Wash Jeans and H&M Pork Pie Hat

GOOD DAY TO YOU DEAR FRIENDS,

This is an outfit I wore to work a couple of days ago and you may have seen Claire’s shocked tweet about my hat wearing adventures. Thankfully we work in an office where we don’t have to dress particularly smart, so outfit choices in the morning can either be tragic (like the day I wore double denim and didn’t straighten my hair) or a bit more fun. I’m putting this into the a bit more fun category and its one that I’m quite pleased with casual-wise. While, I got a few ‘…you’re wearing a hat’ comments throughout the day and one of the guys put it on and looked like a Victorian mill owner, on the whole I AM SOLD ON THE HAT THING. I can’t wait to invest in a few more when Autumn/Winter arrives. View Full Post

Outfit of the Day: Cami and Leather Look Leggings

??????????Cami – Primark / Leather Look Leggings – River Island (old) / Shoes – ASOS /Necklace – eBay / Ring – Primark

Greetings earthlings! I’m going to state the obvious and say that this is not my OOTD from today. Today’s a Thursday, I’m at work, and I don’t think the world of digital marketing is quite ready for leather-look leggings and 7 inch heels (much to my disappointment).

This is actually what I wore when we went out on bank holiday Sunday for a couple of drinks. I know it’s incredibly, painfully, momentously, catastrophically dull but basically a nasty encounter with some sort of bug left me with a really ugly bite mark on my leg so I had to cover up. Well, that and the fact that I managed to get attractive tan streaks on the white dress I was considering wearing. I really am such a failure at life.

I never really got on the disco leggings hype and instead managed to blag my way through that fashion phase by re-wearing my old leather look leggings. I thought I did well to get away with it for a while, but am confused by the fact that, seeing as leather is sticking around again into Autumn/Winter, I might still be able to wear these? It just doesn’t seem right to get so much wear out of one item, it’s like living during a war!*

Outfit of the Day: Primark Quilted Tshirt & Leather Skater Skirt

DSCN2793

Hello friends and strangers!

This is just a little OOTD post to let you all see my bank holiday outfit, which was hastily picked off my floordrobe after spending hours agonising what to wear with this cream Primark quilted tshirt (I think it was £8, I WUV IT)! I ended up going for my leather look skater skirt, which is from Missguided. I used the term leather VERY loosely, the skirt is made out of what me and Claire can only describe as swimming costume material.

I paired with Claire’s BEAUTIFUL Jeffery Campbell dupe heels, which are from ebay and are my favourite things in the entire world (must actually get my own and stop skanking from my dear blonde house pal).

You can’t really see my earrings, but they were gold spikey triangles (surprise, surprise) from Primark (yet again, surprise surprise!).

I’m not sure why I look so hunch back in this photo but in the words of Drizzy, you only live once and if that means being a bit hunched, then so be it.

What do you all think of this little monochrome outfit?

Outfit of the Day: Neon Shorts and White Shirt.

Hello lovely ladies!
Claire and I hosted a house party at what we affectionately call the Bitch Shack (colloquially known as the shack of bitches) on Saturday in honour of my birthday. Obviously, it called for a new outfit and about 10 layers of St Moriz!
readyforthebeach

I have raved about these shorts since I bought them around two weeks ago and I’ve been a genuine eager beaver to wear them. They’re from Missguided and cost me the grand total of £19.99 – I believe they do a dress in the same print if you are interested and as eager for the floral neon as I am! It took me a while to figure out what to wear with it, but I finally decided on this creamy white blouse from Primark (£8) and this triangle/bunting style necklace that also happens to be from Primark (shock horror…it was £3 FYI!). I borrowed a pair of heels from Claire as I’d left the cream ones I wanted to wear in Birmingham and my outfit was well and truly done! I did my nails in a matte effect Models Own nail varnish and some nude lipstick to keep things from getting too wild.

I was vair vair happy with it actually – perhaps even one of my most favey outfits to date! The party was vair fun too – apart from when I smashed my bottle of Moet on the floor when someone told me they didn’t like Game of Thrones…

Outfit of the Day: Primark Floral Crown and Split Maxi

OOTN 17th AugustFloral Crown – Primark / Crop Tee & Maxi Skirt – Missguided / Necklace – Primark (old) / Shoes – eBay

Happy Sunday y’all. Here at Stylingo HQ we are both nursing quite ludicrous hangovers after throwing a house party last night in celebration of Lauren’s birthday (yes, ANOTHER celebration – the girl knows how to milk a birthday). We consider ourselves to be quite tip top hosts and this time even treated our guests to a mini-buffet from Iceland – needless to say, everyone was thrilled. There was also a lot of Kanye West and a lot of tequila, so all in all it was a successful night.

As you can see, I went pretty ‘out there’ for me. By which I mean I wore the exact same sort of outfit I’ve been wearing loads lately and a crazy blind pensioner could have predicted that I’d wear something like this. Ho hum!

Outift of the Day: Missguided Crop & Topshop Trousers

??????????

??????????

??????????Crop Tee – Missguided / Chain – eBay / Trousers – Topshop / Shoes – JuJu / Bag – Forever 21 / Lipstick – Barry M ‘Palest Lavendar’

Everybody, look! LOOK. I’M NOT AT WORK. On a Friday! I hope you’re all as excited as I am about this fact. Normally, having a day off work is thrilling enough, but today I’m especially excited because one of my very best friends is coming to stay with me for the weekend. I’m just about to leave the house to meet her at the station and welcome her to sunny Coventry, but thought I would quickly share what I’m wearing out for our lunch and drinks date.

This sort of thing has very much became a bit of a go-to outfit for me this year while the crop top continues to reign supreme. It’s only really been this summer that I’ve started to incorporate them into my day wardrobe, after being a bit iffy about the idea for a while. But now I think I can safely say it’s acceptable, though only when teamed with something high-waisted of course – belly buttons are the new nipples, keep them covered unless you want to cause too much of a stir.

I teamed this Missguided crop (from the Sweet Deals range which I have raved about numerous times) with these Topshop trousers that I’ve had for about a year and absolutely LOVE. They’re so light and cool, and surprisingly versatile. They crease like a bitch and as a general rule I don’t iron clothes, which is why they don’t receive quite as much love from me as they should. If you’re interested in learning a top tip from my Lazy Girl’s Guide to Living Like a Human, then to get these crease-free this morning I blasted them with my hairdryer. My trusty fave eBay gold chain adds a dollop of ghetto fabulous to the outfit, complemented by this Forever 21 chain strap bag. The JuJu jellies don’t really match seeing as they have silver glitter in but SHUT UP I LOVE THEM, aaaaaaaand today I’m even wearing a lipstick in the day, which is rather unlike me.

On that note, I am very very close to being late and leaving Chiara stranded in the mean streets of Coventry, so I must dash. I hope you all have proper jazzy weekends, LATERS.
