The Bloggers’ Office Wishlist

If you’re a blogger, or know someone who is, then you’ll  know that we’re sensitive souls  – and this means that when it comes to our blogging space, we need everything to be just perfect. For example, it’s a universal truth that we can’t physically sit down to blog without a smoothie in a mason jar by our side, or the aroma of a Diptyque candle wafting into our nostrils. And I’ve personally been known to faint if I go longer than five minutes without seeing something copper or marble. It’s just the way we are – we are artistes. 

(Heehee.)

Self-mockery aside, I think that the area that you blog in is actually really important. I might have my best ideas on the toilet (true story), but my best writing is done when I’m in a space that’s light, airy, comfortable and filled with pretty things to inspire me. This is why I’ve put together the below wishlists for the perfect bloggers’ office.

The Furniture

Furniture Work* have put together an eBook filled with people’s opinions on office furniture, and unsurprisingly the office chair and desk ranked as the items people give the most importance to. On top of these, I also think storage is super important for any blogger’s workspace (will it be filled with important documents or yet more mascaras? Nobody knows), as are plenty of spare surfaces in the form of side tables and shelves. Oh and the prettier these can look for Instgram, the better, obviously.

The Tech & Stationery

The truth is that plenty of people get by blogging with a smartphone and any old desktop they can find, but if we’re talking ultimate wishlist-style blogging offices, then of course the dream is a Macbook and a snazzy camera. Additional handy bits such as lightbox and power bank would also make blogging life a lot easier. And we just need loads of planners because, okay.

I’m a big believer that to be creative, you need a creative space, which is why I’ve picked out these couple of cutesy bits to liven up even in the most minimal of home offices. Yes, the ‘girl boss’ thing is a bit cringe but when you’re editing your 67th photo of an eyeshadow palette to try to get one image where the glare off the reflective packaging doesn’t make you want to gauge your own eyes out, then you need that little boost from your mug, you dig?
